I've got a little tree hugger in me and recycling is where you'll see it most. It's the one thing we can all do to make an impact. When I first moved to North Carolina, I even tried to change careers from marketing to recycling. But after three months in Wake County's Feed the Bin school recycling program (where I occasionally suited up as the program's mascot Paper Guy!), it just didn't pan out. However, I did start company-wide recycling programs at two of my former employers' manufacturing facilities. That's something I'm proud to hang my hat on.

Aside from reducing waste, you might find me doing cleanups at Jordan Lake as part of its Adopt-a-Shoreline program, for which I signed up my neighborhood to do regular trash cleanups at Glass Beach. My current car is a plug-in electric hybrid where I regularly achieve 80+ mpg. At home, our two-acre wooded property is full of wildlife, supported by plenty of feeders, bird houses and baths. In the summer, we're the envy of the neighborhood with 15-25 hummingbirds at our feeders at the same time!
