About Me image.png

Me in a Nutshell

I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories, what they’ve built and what matters most to them. That perspective has shaped both my career and how I spend time outside of work, staying connected to my community in meaningful ways.

I bring a direct and accountable approach, grounded in strategic thinking and empathy. I’m naturally curious and collaborative, which shows up in how I connect with people, uncover their stories, and turn those insights into meaningful outcomes, especially in my career.

As a member of Apex Toastmasters since 2010, I’ve taken on leadership roles and mentored others as they strengthen their communication and public speaking skills. I also support animal rescue efforts through my work with Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE), helping raise visibility for the lifesaving work they do for homeless cats and dogs.

I’ve always gravitated toward one-on-one connection. Whether I’m interviewing a customer about their achievements, mentoring a teen, or spending time with a senior, I value the trust and insight that come from personal interaction. At the core, I’m motivated by connection, growth, and helping others feel heard and supported.

How I Got Here

SUN, MARRIAGE & FAMILY REUNIONS

I grew up in Syracuse, NY and met my future husband Duane in college at RIT. After graduation, we were both ready for less snow and more sunshine. Down to Tampa, FL we went in 1996, where I dug into a career in marketing and soon became Mrs. Duane Ryder. The final move was a coordinated effort with family in New York and Pennsylvania, bringing us all together in Raleigh, NC in 2006. We love our rural home near Jordan Lake, and spending time with our small but mighty local family.
